Course Provider: Karen Erikson Youth Sport Trust


A 3 phase CPD training programme delivered through:

1. A 1 hour virtual introductory taster session

2. An opportunity for a practical training session for your school, or a group of schools in how to set up and deliver a sensory circuit session

3. Delivery of a sensory circuit session to a group of selected students in one school, mentoring staff to develop the skills to deliver their own sessions, with resources to support planning and progression


The training programme develops an understanding of what sensory circuits are, the benefits to pupils with SEND and how to introduce and implement in individual schools.


Please note, while it is advantageous to have attended Part 1 it is not compulsory.


Content:

- An introduction to sensory circuits and the benefits to pupils with SEND

- Introduction to sensory processing and regulation associated with sensory circuits

- Examples of practical implementation of sensory circuits, factors to consider and how to adapt to individual school needs and available provision

- Planning and progression pathways available through sensory circuits to support the PE curriculum and PE and School Sport Competition.


Target audience: All practitioners - primary and secondary.
