Workshop run by Rachael Gartland

(Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist & Sensory Integration Practitioner)

In partnership with Central Bedfordshire Council, Bedford Borough, SNAP Parent Carer Forum, Bedford Borough Parent Carer Forum and NHS Cambridgeshire Community Services.

This workshop is free and aimed at all parents and carers wanting to gain a further understanding of Sensory Processing. Sensory Processing is how children learn about and understand the world through their senses. However, for some, this process is more difficult and sometimes problematic. The workshop aims to develop your understanding of why people process sensory information differently, how and what this looks like for a child and some strategies for you as a family member, friend or colleague can do to help.

The venue for the workshop is Leighton Buzzard Children's Centre which is located on the site of The Rushmere Park Academy site. Parking on site if for centre staff only. Parents are asked to park on the surrounding roads close to the school site. Entrance to the centre is via the main school gate. If the side gate is not open, please press the centre buzzer for access to site and follow the signs to the centre which will be on the left hand side of the site.

If you have any questions about the event please email cscommissioning@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk leaving your details and contact number and a member of the team will contact you.

If you are unable to attend this session or it is fully booked we are delivering a further 4 workshops from November through to February 2020 in venues acorss Central Bedfrodshire. All future workshops are daytime sessions. Please refer to a specific event to book onto one of these sessions.
