An Introduction to Shaping and Decorating Ceramic Objects

About the Workshop

This workshop consists of four sessions, each 2.5 hours long.
It offers an introduction to the versatility of clay through hand-building techniques and glaze decoration.

Its aim is to encourage participants to explore the practice of making while discovering the joy and satisfaction of creating something uniquely theirs, from start to finish.

Through clear, guided steps participants will work on three different projects, each introducing a new forming technique. At the end of the workshop participants will take home 5-10 objects fully handmade by them.

Curiosity, care and a bit of time are the only requirements for this course.
All materials and firings are provided.

Tutor & Venue

The workshop is led by Livia Marin and takes place in her Art Studio in Glasgow. Livia is an artist with over 25 years of experience in the field of Art. A focus on the process rather than only on the end-product is what characterises her work and approach to teaching.
