About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Come and join our volunteer Zelda on a guided walk around the stunning Sparham Pools, discovering its flora and fauna along the way. This is a leisurely walk around this beautiful man-made freshwater habitat in the Wensum valley. Catch a glimpse of a Banded Demoiselle, spot a Great Crested Grebe and admire an island of water lilies.

This is an informal walk aimed at people who don't have much knowledge of nature and wildlife but would like to learn more.

Please bring binoculars if you have them and please wear walking boots / shoes as the paths around the lake can get muddy.

Please note that all under 18 year olds must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Norfolk Wildlife Trust is the oldest Wildlife Trust in the country. The purchase of 400 acres of marsh at Cley on the north Norfolk coast in 1926 to be held ‘in perpetuity as a bird breeding sanctuary’ provided a blueprint for nature conservation which has now been replicated across the UK. Our vision for Norfolk: where the future of wildlife is protected and enhanced through sympathetic management and people are connected with and inspired by Norfolk’s wildlife and wild spaces.
