Until recently, Europe’s largest country remained a mystery to many. In this introductory session, you’ll get a clear and accessible overview of Ukraine’s diverse geography, vibrant regional cultures, and rich historical background.
We’ll explore the people, places, and stories that shape the nation—and explain the key factors behind the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict in a way that helps you truly understand the bigger picture.Whether you're curious about current events or eager to broaden your global perspective, this session offers an essential foundation for anyone wanting to make sense of today’s world.
What will I get out of this course?
This is an introductory course to the country of Ukraine led by the lecturer, Marina Burrell who used to visit Ukraine in the past. You will gain an introductory level understanding to the modern history of Ukraine.
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills or experience?
This is an introductory level course, you do not need any skills/experience just an interest in Ukrainian history and culture.
What do I need to bring with me?
No equipment is needed, but you may wish to bring a pen and notepad to write down your thoughts.
