This seminar is aimed at companies that have the intention to start trading with China in the near future or are considering the possibility of trading with China. It covers the business basics that every company needs to make the most of their first visit.
The seminar is available as a full day event, or can be undertaken over a 4-week period at a series of evening sessions.
The seminar is broken down into four sections:
Part 1 An introduction to China – the background, the history, the opportunities available to Western companies.
Chinese provinces - the key provinces for business, which to target, similarities & differences.
Part 2 Preparation - Trade Missions, Visa applications and invitations to visit (how to organise). Arranging your flights, organising your schedule, financing your trip, working out your pricing, dealing with language barriers.
LUNCH Chinese-style lunch. An opportunity to learn how to eat with chopsticks, or a chance to sharpen up your skills!
Part 3 Communications Audit – making sure your marketing materials are China-friendly, China-friendly websites, translations, common problems with communications. Non verbal communications and how to get things right.
Part 4 Getting prepared Business etiquette, dress code, do’s & don’ts, possible issues for Westerners, a few words of Mandarin.
