This one-day course is an interactive journey into understanding the impact of developmental trauma, exploring the core principles of Trauma Informed Practice and practical exploration of the concepts of love, affection, acceptance, aspiration and empathy. The workshop describes the theory but focuses on relating the concepts to practice – including the value of self-awareness and reflective practice. We discuss the impact of the role on the carers as they travel alongside the young people in their care.
