An Introduction to Visible Thinking

Have you heard the term ‘Visible Thinking’ and you’re not sure what it is? Or you might be wondering how you can put it into practice?

Join us as we talk about what ‘Visible Thinking’ is and how this technique can work in heritage and outdoor learning.

Building on real life experiences in school and family learning, you will come away with:

• The different ways that Visible Thinking can be used in heritage and outdoor learning,
• Take part in at least one Visible Thinking routine,
• Understand how this is a tool might enhance your learning programmes.

Melissa Maynard is a freelance consultant who is passionate about supporting and empowering others to provide inspiring, high quality learning opportunities for visitors to heritage sites, museums and galleries and community spaces. Having worked in charities throughout my career I specialise in creating engagement opportunities that help your visitors create special memories when you have a small budget.

Melissa has been using Visible Thinking in her practice over the last four years in her previous role as Learning & Community Officer at Belton House (National Trust) and will bring some of those experiences into this session.
