Sharing research, lived experience examples and discussions, this workshop will provide participants with an understanding of young onset dementia, its challenges and what can make a difference.

This two hour interactive workshop will consider:

· What is young onset dementia?

· What kinds of dementia do people with young onset dementia experience?

· What are the particular challenges facing people with a diagnosis of young onset dementia?

· What types of support and opportunities are available for people with this diagnosis, and how can this make a difference?

· Practicalities of employment and welfare benefits

The Dementia Training team at Age Scotland have developed a new suite of workshops aimed at members of the Dementia Friendly Communities Network. This is a network of Scottish dementia friendly communities sharing support, empowerment and inspiration with people living with dementia and unpaid carers, in their own community.
