About this event

Arts • Craft

Zines are a powerful tool for creativity, self-expression, and community-building but what exactly is a zine, and how do you make one?

This hands-on, two-hour workshop will guide you through the basics of zine making, from the simplest folded formats to more advanced techniques like thread binding and accordion-style books. We’ll cover four distinct methods of zine construction, explore examples of how zines can be used (from personal storytelling to political activism), and give you the time and space to experiment with your own ideas.

Whether you’re completely new to zines or looking to expand your creative toolkit, this session offers a relaxed and welcoming space to learn, share, and make. All materials will be provided, just bring your curiosity and creativity!

Pay As You Feel Pricing
This is a Pay As You Feel session, with a suggested donation of £3–£10, but you're welcome to contribute whatever you can. We never want cost to be a barrier to creativity — just pay what feels right for your circumstances.

To help guide you, here are our suggested tiers:

  • £3 – For those on low income or tighter budgets
  • £6 – The standard rate that helps us cover materials and running costs
  • £10+ – A supporter rate for anyone able to pay a little more and help us keep these sessions accessible to others

No questions asked, everyone is welcome.
