An Invitation to Rest
Overview
This workshop is an invitation to explore what rest truly means — beyond just sleep or time off. Whether you find it difficult to slow down, feel “too busy” to rest, or are simply curious to deepen your relationship with stillness, this session offers a supported space to soften, release, and recharge.
Rooted in the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar, restorative yoga uses long-held, fully supported postures to gently guide the nervous system into a state of deep rest. With the help of props (bolsters, blankets, and blocks), you’ll be guided into poses designed to help the body and mind unwind.
This practice is for everyone:
- if you're feeling burnt out, anxious or overwhelmed
- if you're navigating change or craving stillness
- or if you already honour rest and wish to go deeper
In this workshop, you will:
- learn the origins and purpose of restorative yoga
- rest in poses for 10 minutes or more, allowing the nervous system to rebalance
- receive guidance and optional support to enhance comfort
- explore how just 10–20 minutes of rest each day can nourish and sustain you
- discover how to recreate your favourite posture at home using everyday props
Leave with a deeper sense of calm and practical tools to integrate rest into your everyday life — not as an indulgence, but as essential care.
