An 'Off Season' Yoga Clinic for Runners and Cyclists with Ellie Roberts

Join Ellie at Heather Yoga for a special ‘off-season’ workshop designed for runners, cyclists and lovers of all sport that explores the ways in which a functional Yoga practice can help to support and maintain active lifestyles.
This interactive 2 hour session will cover:
- What constitutes ‘good’ movement patterns within the context of sport
- Issues that can develop due to over training and/or repetitive movements within sport
- How we can adapt and utilise yoga to help improve our athletic performance
- The workshop will be delivered online so that we can discuss our experiences and thoughts on good movement principles within a shared learning space.
By the end of the workshop you will have:
- Learned about what parts of the body we need to stretch and why
- Discussed what parts of the body we may need to strengthen and why
- Explored the difference between mobility and flexibility
- Developed an understanding about the importance of mobility and stability
- Learned about common issues relating to body imbalances and posture due to repetitive movement
- Built a practical toolkit of playful and accessible drills and sequences that will assist your training including warm up movements, stability and mobility exercises and cool down stretches
Use this winter off season to refresh your approach to your sport and develop a greater understanding about the physical demands placed upon your body during exercise. Step into spring feeling inspired and focused about how you can complement your training with your regular yoga practice.
Everyone is welcome. No prior yoga experience is required.
