Focusing on the three quartets for clarinet and strings (Op.2, 4 and 7), Jane Booth (Head of Historical Performance, Guildhall School of Music & Drama) investigates the legacies of clarinet virtuoso Bernhard Henrik Crusell as shown through his instruments, letters, travel journals and compositions: a true artist in society.
