Have you recently noticed that a friend, client, or co-worker needs to break an undesirable habit, develop a new skill, or simply change their behavior? Have you ever wished for a friend to improve for the better?
We often encourage ourselves to change old habits and pursue desirable goals in various aspects of our daily lives. "Motivational Interviewing" is a communication approach in which a guide facilitates meaningful connections with others, helping them to identify their skills, strengths, and objectives, thereby enabling informed decision-making.
Motivational Interviewing focuses on working with individuals holistically to address their non-medical needs and empower them to take control of their health and well-being. As practitioners, we achieve this by asking clients about their jobs, lives, and what support they need to overcome their current challenges.
What is Motivational Interviewing?
This is a collaborative conversation style strengthens a person's motivation and commitment to change and supports their autonomy to change. It encourages clients to come up with ideas to make a change.
It is intended to improve personal motivation and commitment to a certain goal by evoking the individual's own motivations for change in an accepting and compassionate environment. (Miller and Rollnick, 2013, p.29) We're here to practice how to collaborate with others and how to help them solve their own challenges!

Who is it for?
It is accessible to everyone, regardless of their occupation or organisation.
The goal is to assist others with non-medical concerns while empowering individuals to take greater control of their health and well-being. You can also apply what you learn to your own life.
Why Does Motivational Interviewing (MI) Matter?
The MI approach encourages people to take charge of their lives and support them in addressing their non-medical needs holistically. MI techniques are designed to empower people to take charge of their own health and well-being.
What takes place during the event?
The Motivational Interviewing (MI) training program includes a variety of interactive materials, online tasks, case studies based on hypothetical scenarios, and role-playing exercises. This course offers a comprehensive overview of key concepts, skills, components, and techniques associated with common habits that significantly impact health, such as prolonged sitting, smoking, and excessive consumption of fatty foods.
The instruction will encompass not only theoretical content but also practical activities and group discussions. Upon completing the course, participants will have the opportunity to determine their next steps for continued learning and application. The training features interactive demonstrations along with online exercises, case scenarios, role plays, and video training tailored for remote delivery. All sessions leverage the technology effectively.
Additionally, at the conclusion of each session, participants will complete a learning journal to assess their understanding of MI concepts.
