She’s leading the way with her graphic prints and she’s coming to talk to us about how putting yourself out there works. Based in Sunderland, Polly Stuart will be sharing her journey into freelance, how word of mouth has carried her far, and what stirs her soul when it comes to design.
Polly first fell in love with hands-on processes like screen printing, letterpress and bookbinding whilst at Leeds Arts University, and later taught herself the ways of the Risograph machine. These days most of her work is digital, but she always keeps that DIY, crafted, analogue feel alive in everything she makes. She loves to work with the arts, music and hospitality and has designed for arts venues, cafes, gigs, restaurants, musicians and club nights.
This will be a great event for anyone who works for themselves, is thinking of taking the freelance plunge, graduates and emerging designers, or anyone who just loves design and wants to know more about Polly’s life and her techniques.
As always, there’ll be a delectable array of cheeses and wine/non-alcoholic options. We expect tickets to be snapped up so get cracking.

Our meet-ups are inclusive and supportive spaces and we welcome anyone who’s creative (in whatever form that takes) to join us. We also recognise that our male allies can support our cause further by hearing the thoughts and opinions voiced at our get-togethers. We only ask that our guests respect the inclusive atmosphere and continue to engage in discussion and idea generation for the promotion and support of equal opportunities for female and non-binary identifying creatives.
