We'll be covering The Rules of Composition
Did you know there are "rules" about how to compose your picture, where to put your subject in the frame, and how to move the camera?
Did you also know that, if you break those rules, you can produce some very effective and unsettling effects?
The workshop takes place in the convivial atmosphere of a private room in a local hostelry. Food and drink will be available at the bar!
When you enter the venue, ask for "Richard" or "Days' End Films" and the staff will direct you!
Please feel free to bring a camera to play around with as we go - but a camera and related equipment will be available on the night!
If you are using your phone to film, you may wish to download an app called "Filmic Pro".
Please note, that as part of the (very good) deal with the landlord, who is helping us to keep our costs low, you will be expected to buy something from the bar on the night.
There is a small fee for the workshop to help provide a budget for our next film, website costs, prop buying etc.
If you are new to the group, please have a look at our website and consider getting involved in our next short film! We're a very friendly bunch but we've not been going long and we're looking for new members! Don't worry if you know nothing about filming - that's what we're here to learn!

Welcome to Days' End Films, a not-for-profit filmmakers' club based in Greenwich. This event is: Anatomy of a Picture - A Filmmaking Workshop on Picture Composition! Join us at Royal Albert for an exciting in-person event where you'll learn the ins and outs of creating visually stunning pictures for your films.
We're a new group and this is one of our regular workshops, aimed at finding people passionate about spending their time on filmmaking. We've shot two films so far since we were birthed in June this year.
