About this event

This free event breaks down the anatomy of a workplace mediation case, taking you through the various stages of UK Mediation’s Mediation model: from the private individual sessions, through the joint meeting, and ending with the building of the agreement.

Dr Mike Talbot will share and highlight key techniques of a mediator, as well as key considerations and points of interest throughout the process.

Guest speaker's profile:

Dr Mike Talbot is the founder of UK Mediation

Mike is a highly-experienced psychotherapist, mediator, trainer, lecturer, and the founder of UK Mediation and EU Mediation. With over 25 years’ experience in the conflict resolution field, Mike specialises in applying his in-depth knowledge of psychological processes to the resolution of disputes for teams, groups, and organisations.

Mike's unique psychotherapeutic approach to conflict resolution involves looking at how and why we get into conflict, how we behave when become locked in dispute, and what we need from an impartial third party in order to resolve difficult interpersonal issues.

Mike can advise on the best way to get to the heart of conflict, whether that means using the services of one of our own experts, or having us train you and your organisation in how to resolve matters for yourselves. Mike has assembled a highly skilled team of practitioners over the years, and helps to maintain our industry-leading quality standard with his personal oversight and ongoing support of all of our experts.

Mike has degrees in psychology, work design & ergonomics, and psychotherapy, and his doctoral work is in the overlap of psychotherapy and mediation. Mike writes widely, presents at conferences all over the world, and is a regular contributor to the media on topics related to conflict resolution and mediation.
