Join Laani to learn the ancient art of felt making. You will craft a pair of incredibly cosy felt slippers, designed uniquely to fit your feet. The slippers will be felted around a resist template made from drawing around the outline of your foot, then wet felting around your foot. Your design will then shrink to the perfect shape for you- just like magic!
Using natural fibres, let us reconnect to ancestral wisdom to create beauty that is sustainable and tending to the care of the land of future generations. Bring back the power of the handmade and empower yourself to make your own clothes.
Ethically & Honourably Sourced Materials:
The majority of the cost & value of this workshop lies in the organic materials that are carefully sourced with skill, care, integrity and honouring. We will be working with British wool sourced from a flock of deeply loved heritage-breed Sheep roaming in Devon.
Additional Information:
Wet felting workshops include working on floor level and require the full use of both hands. It’s nourishing but intensive. The venue is within 5 acres of ancient woodland, nestled in the heart of the South Downs with a 1km walk from the carpark to the roundhouse over uneven terrain. If you have additional needs then please contact weaverofaether@gmail.com directly to discuss accessibility.
