Description

An interactive talk with Paul Crooks, author of 'Ancestors'. Paul traced his family back 6 generations to Ami Djaba who was living in the Krobo Mountain, Ghana. Paul’s acclaimed novel and appearance on Who Do You Think You Are? (Moira Stuart) inspired a generation to start exploring Black and British ancestry.

Paul will talk about his books, his journey to find his family history as a case study. Paul will also talk about and how his novel was inspired by Toussant L'Ouverture and the Haitian Revolution 1791 – 1802) and Jamaica’s Baptist War of 1832.
