Here we will finish off your piece and get it ready for sending out to casting. This is also a time to enjoy the garden, art and Open Studio. Works will be for sale from cards to jewelry to paintings...

About this event

Working from our garden studio in St Ives, we will learn and create a beautiful fascinium -sacred phallus ring from start to finish.

We will send our works out for casting in Brass or Sterling Silver, whichever you prefer. Costings are reflected in the tickets.
If you feel like upgrading on the day then bring cash or card to upgrad.

All materials and food available within the price of the workshop.


Inspired by ancient Roman amulets, jewelry and art dedicated to the sacred Phallus-Fascinium.

Fasciniums were painted undebreath chariots to ward against the evil eye.

all members of the community would wear them including children.

Food dietary requirements

Please get in touch about food dietary requirements. I am a fully trained head chef so you can rest assured you will be in good hands.

What will be for lunch?

We use locally sourced ingredients.from veggies grown 5 mins away to our local neighbourhood fisherman, we will bring you the best of the best.

Do we just make fascinium in this workshop?

Yes. Other workshops are available. But this comes with a specific enrichment of fascinium energy.

Do we need to bring anything with us?

Just your good selves. ☺️There will be art for sale in the Open Studio alongside some local produce if you have some spends. We take card and cash.

Where about are you in St Ives?

We are up near the Leach Pottery and the Top Co-op shop. Parking is Ava from St Erth if you fancy that beautiful train ride and we can pick up from St Ives train station. Just let us know in advance.

Can I book for a group

Certainly. Just get in touch and we can make arrangements. This is another workshop that would run well for a hen/ pre wedding party.

Can I just turn up?

No not at the moment. All bookings need to be made at least 20 hrs in advance of a workshop

Melissa Hampson-Smith is an Environmental Artist with an interest in Materials, Time Travel & Outer Space.

She makes art jewellery, sculptures & paintings inspired by future colonisation of other planets.

Some pieces contain found things, others seeds to plant on arrival to a new planet or for re-wilding parts of planet Earth.

She is a member of Precious Collective & an Associate Member of Penwith Galleries St Ives. Her art-jewellery is stocked by Ruup & Form London. And her work can be found in the Crafts Council online catalogue.

Recently one of her drawings was chosen for the first #aspshows as part of #artistsupportpledge at Hastings Contemporary and her paintings were previously chosen for exhibition at Fronteer Gallery Sheffield
