Event description

Description

The fourth annual Andrew Carnegie Lecture at Edinburgh College of Art is to be delivered by Edinburgh International Festival Director, Fergus Linehan.

As the need for transparency and accountability has increased in the arts, questions are being asked as to where decision-making lies and what factors are at play in those decisions. The artist must navigate their way through an increasingly complex web of impresarios, curators, managers, Artistic Directors, cultural policy experts, donors, public funders, community associations, politicians and trustees or perhaps take on these roles themselves.

Fergus Linehan will attempt to give a snapshot of where authority and power lie in today's cultural landscape and consequences of art's increasingly wide-ranging role in public life.
