Performance Poetry and Creating Narratives Workshop
Join Andrew Graves, acclaimed poet, spoken word artist and creator of one-person show God Save the Teen as he shares his knowledge, ideas and writing tips to help you turn your poetry into workable spoken narratives.
In this lively and practical online workshop, you can learn how to emphasize storytelling and character, and understand how you might shape your work into satisfying live routines and set pieces, which can enhance a reading, performance, or a developing show.
You’ll leave this exciting workshop armed with a range of techniques to help you develop and perform your narrative pieces with increased confidence.
Andrew Graves regularly performs his work throughout the UK. He has appeared on TV and radio on a number of occasions being featured on 6 Music’s Cerys Mathews Show, Inside Out and the documentary Evidently John Cooper Clarke. He has released two full poetry collections so far and his third, Not Dancing with Ingrid Pitt will be published by Burning Eye Books in 2021. He has performed with the likes of Sleaford Mods, John Hegely and Henry Normal and has been commissioned by the National Portrait Gallery, BBC Radio 4, Edinburgh International Literature Festival and National Poetry Day
