Join Tombola and Sunderland Software City for the first North East meet-up discussing all things Angular. We are pleased to be welcoming Angular JS lead developer and AngularConnect organiser Pete Bacon-Darwin as our guest speaker.
At the event you’ll also hear from Tombola, the UK’s biggest online bingo site whose international headquarters sit on the banks of the River Wear in the heart of Sunderland.

Overview of how Tombola’s code base has evolved from a single web app to handle desktop, mobile web and native applications in three countries. During this talk we will focus heavily on the architecture, approaches we have taken, the mistakes we made and what the future holds.
18.30 – 19.30 Forms in Angular 2 plus Q&A- Pete Bacon Darwin
In this talk Pete will discuss the history and rise of Angular 1, the motivations for creating it and why it took off. Following that there will be a discussion about the problems Angular 1 hit and why the choice to make such a big rewrite in Angular 2 was made. Pete will also give an overview of how to create forms using the new Angular 2 directives.

Getting to the Sunderland Software Centre:
Road - The A690 travels southwest out of the city to the A19 and continues on to Durham providing a link between the A1 (M) and A19. Click Here for information on city centre car parks that you can use during your visit.
Rail - Sunderland train station is situated 350m away and is also located in the city centre. There are very good rail connections with London Kings Cross via the Grand Central service - the journey from London Kings Cross to Sunderland takes roughly 3 hours 30 mins.
Metro - The Metro rail network offers fast, efficient travel around the North East region, linking Newcastle International Airport with Sunderland, Newcastle, South Shields and North Shields. The closest metro station to Sunderland Software City can be found at Sunderland train station.
Bus - The bus provision for the site is extensive given the site's proximity to Sunderland City Centre.
