Animal research: what does openness look like?
Date and time
Description
The UK’s research community has made impressive progress in the past couple of years towards being open about animal research and engaging in discussions about when, why and whether research on animals is necessary.
Come to an event at the Academy of Medical Sciences to hear from those who have been at the forefront of the openness crusade. It’s your opportunity to ask them your burning questions, including how they’ve overcome opposition both internally and externally, what their greatest challenges have been and what they think is next for the openness agenda.
Speakers include:
Craig Brierley, Head of Research Communications at the University of Cambridge
Wendy Jarrett, CEO of Understanding Animal Research
Natasha Martineau, Head of Research Communications at Imperial College London
Carmel Turner, Chief Press Officer at the Medical Research Council
As always, our events are free and open to all Stempra members. Non-members who would like to attend can join on the night.
