About this Event

At 'Voodoo Daddy's Showroom' (formerly known as 'Bermuda Bob's Hi-Fi')

Annabel Allum

Whether side-stepping rogue rabbit holes in the fields of Guildford’s Pewley Down, exercising her natural curiosity with a stroll along the canal banks of the River Wey or zipping through Austin, Texas on a scooter, ready to wreak havoc on SXSW with her bandmates beside her; the world of Annabel Allum is a Wonderland of magnificent contradictions.

At her most visceral, Annabel is a troubadour for the millennial age, with vitriolic explosions of ferociously grungy guitar and gut-wrenching honesty, deftly attuned to observations of what lies beyond her Lennon-framed lenses. When contemplative, Annabel is an astute poet; praised as much for her words, as for her imagination and sensitivity - a DIY artist in the truest sense.

You Got It Good:

Lazy Day

Lazy Day is the brainchild of London’s Tilly Scantlebury that grows into a live four-piece band, full of energy and warmth. “Woozy and mesmeric, combining the introspection of Elliot Smith, the reverb-drenched resonance of Slowdive and the wonky pop sensibility of Kate Bush - NOISEY

Once likened to four brothers, Bristol UK based Tungz are a tight-knit group delivering an intoxicating blend of 70s synths, disco grooves and friendship. Emerging from their basement home-studio Tungz are clearing the way for a new era of funk-inspired bedroom pop.

Window Love:

Household Dogs

Household Dogs will usher you into their world of desolate landscapes and brooding characters. Born out of a damp terraced house basement in late 2016, this Leeds four-piece have been welding together elements of Americana and Alternative Rock, birthing their own gritty pseudo-country sound.

Lonely Lover:

5 piece indie emo band from Naaaarrwich

Much To Me:

Some Bodies

TV Show:

Nature TV

Brighton based 4 piece. Door-to-door heartbreak salesmen.

EP 1:

American Blondes

During the tropical summer of 2018, four like-minded boys merged their influences and decided to start making music. Calling themselves American Blondes, they set up camp in a cosy home studio cabin situated just outside of Colchester, Essex, taking influence from diverse artists such as Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Foxygen, Twin Peaks and Beach Fossils. American Blondes combine blissful shoegaze-esque guitar tones with spacey and playful vocal melodies, being carefully looked after by sophisticated basslines, mellow drum beats and dreamy keyboard harmonies. Previously heard on local BBC Introducing stations in Suffolk and Essex, American Blondes are aching to release new music in the summer of 2019 and beyond, ready to present their new and exciting sounds that will alleviate their cabin fever.

Closer Than Anything I've Tried:

In the cold beginning of 2018 three gals, one lad, and various instruments came together to create SUDS. Dan the dog-walker-by-day, guitarist by night made the bold move to Peterborough to join the rest of the clan. Living together boosted work morale and helped define SUDS’ identity. Dan’s energetic nature is amplified on the strings, bringing atmospheric riffs and driving choruses that contrast and compliment Maisie-Mae’s soft voice. Made from hand crafted moody words and gentle vocal lines, they are accompanied by Maisie-Mae’s catchy guitar licks. Isabella, who’s day job is a piano tutor, puts aside the keys and picks up the sticks for this project. Her innovative drumming and infectious aura turns SUDS’ indie skeleton into something boppier and more lively. Pro Popcorn Popper, Tom leaves the grueling work of the cinema behind him and plays the bass. With strong and independently creative bass lines, his animated appealing rhythm is not hard to miss- nor is his newly shaved head!
