Description

Join Anne Duchess of Westminster charity and Maggie’s Merseyside for a day of first class racing set at the stunning Bangor-on-Dee racecourse, nestled in beautiful countryside beside the River Dee and overlooked by the Welsh Hills.

Anne Duchess of Westminster loved Bangor Racecourse and was a regular visitor. The Trustees of the charity set up in her name feel it is a very fitting location to run her commemorative race and charity lunch.

Each year, the trustees nominate a charity to receive the funds raised at the lunch, and this year they have chosen Maggie’s at Clatterbridge and their Million for Maggie’s Appeal, to support people across Cheshire, Merseyside and North Wales affected by cancer.

Individual tickets available online here: £90 each
Table of ten available offline (please contact Holly on details below): £900 per table
Tickets include paddock entrance, champagne reception two course lunch, tea and cake mid-afternoon and 3 bottles of wine per table.

All proceeds go towards the Million for Maggie’s Appeal,to fund a new cancer caring Centre being built next to Clattebridge Cancer Centre. Maggie’s provides free practical and emotional support for people living with cancer, and their friends and family.

Sponsorship packages are also available. Contact Holly Smith on 07557 284 816 or holly.smith@maggiescentres.org for more information.

Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends, following the ideas about cancer care originally laid out by Maggie Keswick Jencks.

Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, Maggie's centres are places with professional staff on hand to offer the support people need.

Our centres are places to find practical advice about benefits and eating well; places where qualified experts provide emotional support; places to meet other people; places where you can simply sit quietly with a cup of tea.

The first Maggie’s opened in Edinburgh in 1996 and since then Maggie’s has continued to grow, with 26 centres at major NHS cancer hospitals in the UK and abroad.
