Event description

Description

Author of the multi-award winning fiction Fugitive Pieces, 'the most important book I have read for forty years' (John Berger), Canadian poet and novelist Anne Michaels presents two new titles in this very special event, her only London appearance. Infinite Gradation (House Sparrow Press), her first volume of non-fiction, is an astonishing meditation on the moral, emotional and philosophical implications of language and the creative act. All We Saw (Bloomsbury), Anne's latest collection of poetry, continues her mesmerising and lyrical exploration of love, loss and the mystery at the heart of being.

She will be in conversation with her friend, the internationally acclaimed theatre-maker and performer Simon McBurney, co-founder of Complicite and director of her 2005 London performance piece Vanishing Points, made with John Berger.

The evening is hosted by Gareth Evans, co-editor, with Jess Chandler, of House Sparrow Press.

With thanks to Flipside Festival.

Please note this event will take place at St. George's Church, Bloomsbury.
