Description

Annual elective care conference

The event will commence at 10am (registration from 9am, lunch will be provided). The day will conclude at 4pm.

This year’s elective care conference brings together three components of elective care: referral to treatment (RTT), cancer and diagnostics. The event will provide the opportunity to hear from those working nationally within NHS trusts to tackle the range of elective care challenges we face in 2018 and to support the improvement of patient experience.

The event is chaired by Adam Sewell-Jones, Executive Director of Improvement for NHS Improvement, with Ian Dalton, the newly appointed Chief Executive of NHS Improvement, providing the opening keynote address. Further speakers include:

  • Mrs Celia Ingham Clark, Medical Director for Clinical Effectiveness, NHS England and Interim NHS National Director of Patient Safety, NHS Improvement

  • Dr Angela Wong, Chair for the Clinical Cancer Board at Barts Health NHS Trust and Clinical Chair of the East London Health & Care Partnership (NEL) STP Cancer Commissioning Board

  • ACT Academy, speaking about supporting individuals to reflect on their own career development

  • Representatives from a range of NHS trusts and partner organisations discussing practical examples and experiences within elective care.

Members of the elective improvement team (IST) will also be on hand at lunchtime and at the end of the day in the form of an informal ‘surgery’, answering any questions delegates may have concerning elective care management.

The agenda can be viewed here.

Delegates have the option to choose from three out of 18 workshops which will run throughout the day. These will cover a range of elective care topics, highlighting practical examples of good practice, as well as guidance on the management of current issues across the spectrum of elective care.

Workshop selections should be made online during the registration process. For details of the workshops please click here: elective care workshop sessions

There are three ticket types; when registering please choose the correct category.

Who should attend?

This conference is directly aimed at directors, managers and clinicians working to deliver improved RTT, diagnostic and cancer care within NHS trusts, commissioners and national bodies.

Places will be booked on a first come, first served basis. Initially, places will be limited to three per organisation. Building on the success of previous years’ conferences, we have increased the size of this year’s event to accommodate the increased demand.
