Training session for Wirral-based Education, Health & Social Care professionals, who work with children & young people with SEND.
- Understanding the legal framework: Relevant legislation including The Children & Families Act 2014 and The SEND Code of Practice 2015
- Overview of the Annual Review process: clarifies the stages involved in an Annual Review, including requesting up-to-date advice, gathering information, involving relevant professionals across the Education, Health & Social Care system and decision making.
- The role of professionals: Understanding the duties and responsibilities of various professionals, who contribute to Annual Review, such as teachers, SENCOs, educational psychologists, health and social care professionals.
- Preparation for Adulthood: Understanding duties and responsibilities of Education, Health & Social Care professionals across the four areas of Preparation for Adulthood - Education & Employment; Independent living; Community inclusion and Good Health and providing sufficient advices.
- Reassessments of need: Understanding relevant legislation and the duties and responsibilities Education, Health & Social professionals.
- Interim Reviews: Clarifies the reasons for an Interim Review of an EHC Plan an overview of the process and decision making, including statutory duties.
- Transition Reviews: Identifies the key aspects of a Transition Review, the key points of phase transfer, statutory deadlines and the outcomes of a Transition Review.
