Event description

Description

Hear what really went on behind the scenes with New Labour and other political events, and the state of the press today from one of Fleet Street's finest, talking about his long and successful in journalism.

Paul Routledge will be familiar to those who read his pugnacious column in the Huddersfield Examiner but, perhaps, will know less of his career as one of Fleet Street's most popular political correspondents. He has worked as foreign and labour reporters for The Times, The Independent and for over 20 years was, until his recent retirement, the Mirror's leading chief political correspondent.

Paul has covered most of the major political events of the last 40 years and has been on first name terms with the leading politicians of the era. He is the biographer of Gordon Brown, Arthur Scargill, Airey Neave and Peter Mandelson.
