Annual Ladies Lunch: Barcelona 2014
Monday, 24 February 2014 from 12:30 to 14:30 (CET)
Yes, it's that time of year again when we all descend on Barcelona for Mobile World Congress. And this lunch, which forms part of the Heroes of the Mobile Fringe Festival, is a chance for us ladies to get together for an hour or so over a relaxed lunch and chew the fat with our peers. Priority will be given to ladies to attend. If there's room, then we'll be able to have some gentlemen join us too. We have a little more room this year as we're in a different venue and the lunch will be buffet/tapas style.
If you're interested in joining us, please confirm your place here. We're taking payment in advance to cover costs and is 25 Euro per head + a small fee for eventbrite. This fee also covers any PayPal fees. This is because I'll be paying for the food in advance. Lunch will be a variety of tapas to suit all tastes. And we will include a drink with the deal - beer, wine or a soft drink. Please tell us of any dietary requirements. Payment is by paypal or invoice/bank transfer. Please get in touch if you'd prefer to do a bank transfer and we will provide you with the details.
This year, we're teaming up with Ellas2 which is a membership organisation to promote and support women launching technology-based ventures in the Hispanic world. They connect entrepreneurs with other entrepreneurs and useful resources to achievee success. Clara Martin, Ellas2's Barcelona Ambassador, will be with us to tell us more about it and we hope to welcome some local Spanish female entrepreneurs too.
Our venue this year is the fabulous Le Rouge BCN. You'll find it in the heart of Barcelona, and the nearest Metro station is Verdaguer (6 stops from Placa Espanya on the Green and Blue lines). It's also walkable from Diagonal, Girona, Tetuan, or Passeig de Gracia. Le Rouge is on the main road so is also accessible by taxi. They have free and fast wifi too and plug sockets to charge your devices!
We'll be open from 12.30 and will start lunch at 13:00 promptly. Although the food is buffet style, there are enough seats for everyone. There will be plenty of time for networking. Spread the word!
We will be serving wine at lunch, courtesy of the lovely Silvia Camacho from V&N Cellars. V&N Cellars offers a selection of wines from Spain's most distinctive varietals and regions. Silvia has years of experience tasting and looking for the best vines and winemakers so this will be a special treat to try some at our lunch. Silvia will also be on hand to explain the different varieties and share her passion for wine and winemaking.
And last but not least, let's talk about the food. We have a very special dining experience for you this year. Chef Kathleen, the talent behind Jezebel's Clandestine Dining, will be preparing a special pop-up dining menu for us. Vegetarians and those with nut allergies will be catered for. Chef Kathleen creates food that is a fabulous fusion of soul food and Mediterranean cuisine which combines the influences of the different places she has lived and worked. It will be great!
All tickets must be bought in advance. This is a pop-up dining experience so all the food had to be bought in advance. Refunds can only be processed up to 7 days before the event. After that date, tickets are not transferable or refundable.
This is a Heroes of the Mobile Fringe Event.
