ALTC 2023: Optimising Employability for the Workplace of the Future - the Role of Educators, Students & Employers

It is with great pleasure to welcome you all to our 22nd Annual Learning and Teaching Conference (MDX ALTC 2023). This year’s focus is on employability and you will have the opportunity to hear from colleagues across our campuses, collaborative partners, students, alumni and industry connections.

At Middlesex University, we are committed to positively impacting various areas such as the economy, society, culture, and the environment. We recognise that one of the most significant ways to do so is by empowering our students to succeed in their future careers. Our strategy, 'Knowledge into Action 2031', is centred around enhancing student success through an emphasis on employability, enterprise, and entrepreneurship. To further this commitment, we are excited to introduce our new Graduate Competencies.

The new MDX Graduate Competencies are the fundamental building blocks of the emerging Learning Framework and will form the foundation for learning outcomes across our portfolio. By way of micro-credential awarding, they will provide the learning gain context across our curricular and co-curricular offer. Through a distinct combination of theoretical learning, supported and brought to life through an experiential, practice-based pedagogy and reflective evaluation – we can ensure MDX graduates transition into the world of work, confident in their ability to articulate and evidence the key skills that align to the demands of the modern workplace.
