Tightening your belt without choking training & development

Speaker - Kate Wright, E-Learning Development Officer, Aberystwyth University

This session will look at low cost options for providing training and development to staff using technology-enhanced learning approaches. It will look at how to find and get the most of MOOCs, Twitter and webinars. It will also cover what to look for if you do decide to purchase online learning materials.

Kate Wright is the E-learning Group manager at Aberystwyth University. She has been working in the field of e-learning since 2003 and in that time has been involved in developing the use of a number of e-learning tools and systems, including Blackboard, Panopto, Turnitin, Qwizdom and online assessment. She has been involved heavily in the implementation of AU’s e-submission and lecture capture policy as well as helping to develop e-learning policy and strategy. Kate has an interest in e-assessment and lead the rollout of Questionmark Perception for online exams. She has presented papers at a number of conferences including the Questionmark Perception Users Conference and the Blackboard Teaching and Learning Conference.

This will also include the Annual Meeting. This will give a chance to review the activity of the year passed and what is to come in the year ahead.
