Dear Friends and Ambassadors for Peace,
The annual coming together of the branches and the areas of UPF activity across the UK. We will begin by sharing with you the highlights of the 2016 events and development of certain projects we are planning for the future. We will also bring UPF International news too including the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace.
Baroness Sandip Verma, will address us as a great supporter of UPF and a champion of Women’s Affairs and the Environment which are all UPF’s goals. She will be accompanied by her husband Ashok Verma. UPF Director Keith Best will speak about some of the projects we are planning to work on. Afzal Ashraf will also share some of his experience about anti-radicalisation and where UPF will be playing a role. Dr David Earle will be speaking about the great works of UPF in Birmingham. There will be speakers covering the five areas of UK - UPF activity: The Interface of Politics and Religion, Women’s Empowerment, Youth Empowerment, Sustainable Development Goals and Marriage and Family.
Chief Mrs Yemisi Sanusi, I-Day UK, and Charlotte Simon, Mothers of Congo, will speak about their partnership with UPF. We would also like to introduce UPF YOUNG ACHIEVERS GROUP.
Registration at 12.00noon and light refreshments and snacks – and will start the programme at 12.30pm sharp! We will present Ambassador for Peace awards during the afternoon. This will be followed by food and festivities. We will finish at 5 pm. There will be a charge of £5 to cover the expenses of the day.
