Please join us for this years Regional Annual SEND Conference. The day is aimed at all educational professionals who work with children and young people in any area of SEND. Our Speakers for the day are:


Sarah Templeton - ADHD Specialist "How ADHD Can Make You Fly”.

Sarah is an author and trainer specialising in ADHD, who speaks from a personal and professional perspective. She is a passionate and vocal advocate for adolescents and adults with either unrecognised, and therefore undiagnosed, or late diagnosed ADHD. She firmly believes that the key to stopping ADHD adolescents experiencing adverse life experiences is to educate parents and teachers. Stephen Parsons – Speech & Language Therapist and NAPLIC Chair - “Linking Language and Emotions”.

Stephen has worked as a Speech and Language Therapist for over 25 years. He is particularly interested in how whole-class practice can include children with developmental language disorder. Stephen has a long-term interest in vocabulary and

Dr Stephen ConnollySheffield Hallam University, Lecturer in Autism and Education - Challenging Ideas about Challenging Behaviour”.

Stephen is a senior lecturer in Autism and Education at Sheffield Hallam University. He is also an autistic researcher focusing on decolonising autism, decolonising research methodology, ethical autism research practices, inclusion of autistic pupils in education, and autistic student experiences of special schools.

Stephen’s background is working in and with special schools, alternative provisions and parents. He is currently teaching around autism theory, autism policy and practice, challenging ideas of challenging behaviour and ethics in education social justice. Emily Whiteley – Learning Facilitator/Project Lead for the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training Programme – NHS South Yorkshire ICB. SLE (Forest School, Outdoor Learning, SEND & Autism) -Bents Green Specialist School

Emily has a broad teaching experience of 29 years specialising in Outdoor Learning, Forest School, SEND and Autism. She is currently on secondment

from her teaching post at Bents Green Secondary Specialist School, Sheffield where she set up the first Forest School Association Recognised Provider Provision in Yorkshire. Her secondment is with the NHS South Yorkshire ICB where she is Learning Facilitator/ Project Lead for the Oliver McGowan mandatory training programme in Autism & Learning Disabilities. She is a Create Sheffield partner and has a Consultancy running specialist training projects and workshops which aim to inspire others to use creative and flexible approaches for all.

Emily’s practical workshop will showcase strategies such as, sensory circuits & sensory stories highlighting the impact small changes in our practice can have on all learners. Using natural materials participants will experience simple sensory

We offer centre based specialist accredited learning and learning focussed on developing inclusive classrooms and implementing tried and tested interventions. We are based in the Fusion SEND Hub, Talbot Specialist School, Lees Hall Road, S8 9JP and all our courses and briefings are hosted here unless otherwise stated. We can deliver bespoke training in individual schools and/or to a family of schools. We also offer on-going professional learning opportunities for class teachers, SENCOs and Teaching Assistants.

Invoicing and Cancellation Policy

Fusion SEND Hub asks course delegates to be aware of these business terms and conditions that apply to all bookings for the provision of training services.

Please note bookings will be treated as confirmed once a booking form has been received.

A confirmation email will be issued by Eventbrite upon receipt of your booking and an invoice will follow shortly for the full course fee. This must be paid in full, within 14 days of receiving the invoice. For late bookings payment must be made in full at the time of booking.

If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing enquiries@fusionsendhub.co.uk. Whilst we appreciate there may be good reason for any cancellation, we reserve the right to charge if we do not receive notification within 14 days of a course start date, or 5 weeks notification in relation to Team Teach courses.

Substitutions can be considered with advanced notice, however, this is not always possible for Team Teach courses due to their individual terms and conditions.

All course fees paid, will be refunded in full, if a cancellation is made in writing (by emailing enquiries@fusionsendhub.co.uk ) prior to 14 days before a course start date.

Fusion SEND Hub reserves the right, at its absolute discretion and without liability, to cancel an advertised course due to insufficient numbers or through circumstances beyond the Fusion SEND Hub's reasonable control. In which event the liability of Fusion SEND Hub shall be limited to the return of all monies paid or an alternative date may be given.
