Climate Emergency and Water Efficiency - Waterwise Conference 2020
Sponsored by Anglian Water
This year’s Waterwise Conference ‘Climate Emergency and Water Efficiency’ will be held as a digital event on 13th -17th July 2020. We will be holding 1 or 2 live sessions every day lasting up to 1.5 hours each, and releasing a number of exclusive videos each day, too. All content will be available after the event to delegates only. If you would like to attend the event - tickets are £250 plus VAT.
The Waterwise Conference has been the major national water efficiency event in the UK since 2007. Environment Agency Chief Executive Sir James Bevan opened the 2019 conference with his now infamous ‘Jaws of Death’ speech, and the Waterwise Conference was all over the national news!
Following the declaration of a climate emergency by the UK Parliament, the Scottish and Welsh Governments and councils in Northern Ireland, and building on public interest and concern, the 2020 conference theme is Climate Emergency with a particular focus on the role of water efficiency. Water is where the climate emergency will be felt, so it’s a very important link. The conference will also of course consider water efficiency during the Covid-19 pandemic, and how we use this insight and behaviour change to get even better at water efficiency as things get back to normal.
Conference sessions will look at the challenge of climate change with respect to water; mitigation and adaptation in homes and businesses; industry best practice - and how to deliver a water-saving culture. As well as contributions from water efficiency experts across the UK water sector, we are delighted to announce a wide variety of speakers from across and beyond the sector, including
- Tom Andrewartha, Customer Strategy and Campaign Delivery Manager, Northumbrian Water
