About this event

Dr Kellyn Lee returns to 'A Conversation with ...' with a follow up on how Material Citizenship is changing, for the better, the lives of people living with dementia and staff in care homes in England and Wales.

People relocating to a care home often find themselves having to adjust their day-to-day activities to fit the task-orientated routine of care home life. They also find themselves without the objects that are crucial to continue with daily routines and rituals. This not only causes a huge disruption to their lives but can also make the dementia look worse and lead to unnecessary medical interventions.

Dr Kellyn Lee is a chartered psychologist, academic and founder of The Dementia Care Hub www.dementiacarehub.co.uk. She runs a private therapeutic practice near Southampton, England working with people affected by dementia, she trains care providers in Material Citizenship, and developed the We Care - Dementia Care training course for family members caring for a person living with dementia. She has her first book coming out later in the year.
