This 2-day technical course provides a comprehensive introduction to antennas and propagation with a particular emphasis on antennas for modern RF and wireless device applications. We begin by reviewing basic antenna and propagation characteristics, key definitions and how these relate to antenna design. We then describe and discuss a broad range of antenna types commonly found in modern RF, wireless and microwave systems – both fixed and mobile.
Practical measurement demonstrations will be performed throughout the course on a wide range of antenna types to help reinforce the concepts introduced. Throughout the course, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask the instructor, who brings over 40 years of experience in RF and microwave technology, questions to help clarify understanding.

This is a technical course and the ability to assimilate and understand technical concepts is essential. A technical background is desirable in order to derive maximum benefit from the course.
