Description

Bullying is extremely widespread among young people. It is reported that one in five children are experiencing some form of bullying. The impact this can have on children and young people is enormous, affecting confidence, self-esteem and mental health.

Bullying has many different forms, including:

• sex discrimination

• sexual abuse

• racist abuse

• homophobic abuse

• abuse for standing out from the crowd/appearing different

• family/ home situation

• peer pressure

It can happen both face to face and online.

This course brings you up to date with the latest research around bullying, anti-bullying practices and young people.

You will explore how to support children and young people to build their resilience and to promote human rights, equality and the acceptance of others.

Tameside Population Health Team has commissioned Tough Cookies Education to provide a number of workshops which will be FREE to attend for teachers and staff working in Tameside schools. For schools and organisation that are not in Tameside please contact Tough Cookies Education to discuss.
