Anti-Corruption and Financial Crime Prevention Regional Initiative in Trinidad & Tobago, supported by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO):
Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago from 8th – 9th December 2016.
The theme of the workshop will be linking anti-corruption and financial crime prevention efforts following the 2016 London Anti-Corruption Summit, thus the main topics for consideration are as follows:
A) Asset restraint and recovery;
B) Beneficial ownership registers and automatic exchange of information for tax – implementing the necessary measures for useful law enforcement cooperation;
C) The National Risk Assessment and the new FATF Mutual Evaluation standards;
D) Inter-agency cooperation – linking anti-corruption and AML/CFT efforts.
The workshop aims to support FIUs and Anti-Corruption Commissions from across the Caribbean region to share good practice and prepare for National Risk Assessments and FATF Mutual Evaluation visits. It will include a series of expert-led sessions to help relevant authorities enhance their preparations for FATF Mutual Evaluations and prepare National Risk Assessments. This event will create a forum and a network for effective dialogue and best-practice sharing between leading anti-corruption and anti-money laundering authorities across the Caribbean.
