About this event

To celebrate Clean Sport Week 13-17 May, Jersey Sport are pleased to be working in partnership with the Government of Jersey to host this upskilling opportunity for local sport organisations and any athletes, coaches, parents or sport enthusiasts who are interested in understanding more about the local and national anti-doping regulations and procedures in sport. The workshop will be delivered face-to-face by Jersey's Anti-Doping Lead, Nikki Holmes.

Audience

This course is for anyone who is involved with sport at any level.

Please note: you must be a current resident of Jersey to access our training and workshops.

Aim

The aim of this course is to educate and raise awareness of anti-doping regulations and procedures for athletes, coaches or any individuals involved in sport.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants should be able to:

  • Understand UKAD and partners’ roles and responsibilities in protecting clean sport
  • Be able to identify and use accurate sources of clean sport information to minimise risk
  • Outline the testing procedures and rights and responsibilities of athletes during the testing process
  • Be able to give examples of Anti-Doping Rule Violations that can be committed by athletes and athlete support personnel
  • Be able to explain the potential health, social and economic consequences of doping

Sports organisations have a responsibility to ensure all sports workforce understand and can apply the relevant anti-doping regulations, in line with the GOJ Anti-Doping Policy and NGB/WF guidelines, providing access to appropriate education and training as appropriate.
