Event Details

BASW is working with its members to develop an anti-poverty practice guide for social workers. The purpose of the guide is to act as a one-stop-shop for knowledge, skills and values that social workers need to work effectively with service users who are victims of poverty. As part of the development work for the guide, members are being consulted. We are inviting BASW members in England to be part of the consultation on 1 May 2018 from 10am-2pm at Plymouth. The consultation consists of a workshop, during which members will be asked their views about:

  • The information about local and Scottish services that be included in the guide?
  • The skills that they believe social workers require to effectively work with victims of poverty.
  • The ethics and values of working with children and adults living in poverty.
