He considers how accentuating purpose and brand values is key to being heard above the noise of a very busy multichannel environment. Paddy is CEO and Co-Founder of Mission Ventures committed to building better challenger brands. He entered the industry in 2006 as co-founder of Plum Baby, a disruptive premium baby food brand that scaled rapidly and had achieved 65% weighted distribution across the UK within just 18 months of launch, exiting to Darwin Private Equity after five years. Mission Ventures runs business accelerator programmes for innovative food and drink brands and is the acceleration partner for The Good Food Fund, which is looking at how healthier challenger brands can tackle childhood obesity. Paddy expects to announce shortly the first corporate venturing partnership with one of the UK’s largest food brands, aiming to invest in promising businesses.
