Antisemitism Online
How to Understand Antisemitism in the Digital Era
On 3 October 2019
At 7pm to 9pm

Antisemitism has existed for nearly two thousand years and continuously adapts itself to changing societal conditions and world views. Since 1945, antisemitism has been characterized as a fringe phenomenon; and yet today, it is spreading on a large scale online. Dr Becker’s linguistic research aims to understand the current nature of antisemitism and other hate ideologies on mainstream websites.

Dr Becker is currently a research fellow at the Weiss-Livnat Center for Holocaust Research and Education/Department of Communication at the University of Haifa. Furthermore, he is affiliated with the Center for Research on Antisemitism at the Technical University in Berlin and to Centric, Sheffield Hallam University.
