Workshop 2 - Anxiety: Understanding our survival system

Fear and anxiety are part of the human survival system – diligently alerting us to current dangers and potential threats. But when does anxiety become problematic? We will discuss anxiety from a few different angles and look at some ways to disrupt the vicious cycle of unhelpful anxiety.

The Counselling Service will offer a series of workshops, every four weeks from October 2019 - June 2020, open to all London Met staff. Each workshop will start with a brief talk on a particular topic related to mental health, wellbeing, communication, and interpersonal relationships, followed by a facilitated discussion among participants on the topic, its relevance and implications. Five topics will be covered this year.

Facilitator: Counselling Service
