The aims and objectives of this free workshop for AoC members in the north east are to increase understanding, confidence and effectiveness in supporting students of all ages with mental health needs by:
- Reviewing policy regarding the mental health needs of young people and adults studying in further education and sixth form colleges.
- Considering what constitutes effective provision for adult learners and young people with mental health needs in further education
- Identifying examples of good practice of colleges working with local commissioners and other providers for the benefit of their students and staff.
- Identify actions for colleges locally to help increase support for students and staff’
The format of the workshop will be a combination of round-table discussions and presentations. Key note speakers will include Liz Maudsley (AoC Policy Manager, LLDD) and Richard Caulfield (AoC Regional Director, North West) who lead nationally for the Association of Colleges on the topic of Mental Health in FE.

Places are limited and if over-subscribed the priority will be to ensure as many AoC member colleges as possible to have at least one representative present.
