APHA Science Exhibition

We would like to invite students (16 -19 years old) studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects to visit our site in Addlestone, Surrey, to meet our scientists to find out more about the scientific work we carry out to protect the UK from animal and plant diseases. The Agency has been dealing with disesae outbreaks for over one hundred years.

We employ over 2000 people on our Weybridge site and would like to invite the next generation to learn more about our work and range of career opportunities in scientific research and support areas.

The proramme will include talks, tours and an exhibtion. The exhibition will showcase the work of our science departments: Bacterial Diseases and Food Safety, Virology and Pathology, Epidemiology, Animal Science and Plant health(with interactive displays and activities) plus tours of our diagnostic laboratories and animal science facilities. There will also be information on the range of jobs and learning opportunities, including apprenticeships.

We are running open days during Biology Week on the following days:

Thursday 9 October morning (9.45am – 12.50pm)
Monday 13 October afternoon (13.15 - 16.20)
Tuesday 14 October morning (9.45am – 12.50pm)

Wednesday 15 October morning (9.45am – 12.50pm)

Please select the Register button to choose one morning or afternoon session for a group of between 20 and 48 students to attend. On the next section, please specify the number of students places you estimate you will bring. We would expect one or two teachers to accompany the group. You will need to confirm numbers by 19 Sept 2025.
