You don't have to produce a feature-length film to clearly communicate a message to your stakeholders and audiences. Short, authentic stories have extraordinary power to inspire and motivate action.
And the power to film them is in your pocket. If you have a smartphone or tablet device, you can start shooting film straight away. There are also plenty of free apps you can use to quickly edit on the spot.
This workshop is suitable for beginners and will start you off on producing your own short no-budget videos.
It will cover potential uses for video, what you might need to consider in your planning, along with basic styles and techniques. You’ll also shoot and edit a short video to help build your confidence to do the same for your own organisation.
By the end of the session, you’ll know how to:
- Choose basic styles and techniques
- Plan a video using the resources and capacity you have
- Choose devices and equipment to enhance your filming
- Shoot a short video
- Edit your video using a simple app
You’ll also discover apps, devices and other online and offline tools that can help you create videos on the go or when you’ve got a bit more time and space.
We are running two sessions on making short films. There is no requirement to attend both, although you may wish to do so to enable you to explore the topic in more depth and get the benefits of both online and offline learning. Click here to view and book.
Who is this session for:
This beginners' course is suitable for anyone that is responsible for communicating a charitable cause's story. You don't have to be a 'techie' to take part or have any experience of making videos.
