A fun-filled and fruity day with professional storyteller Susie Oldfield & The Orchard Project's natty contraption Pedal Pedal Squish Squish
About this event
Come down to Kenworthy Orchard for an afternoon picnic, Apple Day and storytelling with Susie Oldfield. Hosted by The Orchard Project and featuring our natty contraption 'Pedal Pedal Squish Squish'.
We're taking bookings of four people per picnic mat but if your group is larger than four you may purchase two or more tickets. E.g. 3 adults + 3 kids = 2 Picnic Mats, so you'll need two tickets. No need to bring your own. Our amazing storyteller, Susie Oldfield, will be ready to engage you in some fruity folk tales, splendiferous stories, murky myths and loopy legends. Choose the afternoon slot that suits you and your family best and we'll do the entertaining.
Expect apple themed games, fun, tasting and more.
SAT NAV/PARKING:
Please use public transport, cycle or walk where possible. If arriving by car use the car park on the opposite site of the lake at the end of: Maitland Ave, Manchester M21 7WH
WHAT THREE WORDS: lines.king.bound
We'll email out a map prior to the event just so you don't get lost!
OUR WET WEATHER PLAN
A bit of light rain wont stop us. We'll place enough picnic mats under our 3 x 6 metre gazebo, so plenty of space for all your kids but adults may want to bring a brolly!
Do watch out for last minute changes landing in your inbox prior to the event.
OUR COVID SAFETY MEASURES:
- We'll be following the latest guidance for safe outdoor events
- The picnic mats will be placed 2m apart.
- We'll have check in point for the NHS app
- a one-way system will be in place and stewards will direct you.
WITH THANKS TO:
Manchester Council and their #TreeActionManchester campaign. Their support has helped us to continue the restoration of this community orchard, which feeds local people and supports our local biodiversity. Best of all it also acts as an outdoor venue for events such as these.
