Event description
Grafting Fruit Trees

About this event

Grafting is a form of propagating new fruit trees using buds or twigs – the ‘scion wood’ from an existing tree and fusing it onto a branch or stem of another tree- the rootstock.

Most fruit trees are produced by grafting a cutting from a tree onto a rootstock. This way we get the tree we want restricted to the size we want.

At this session we will look at why we graft trees, when and how.

You will have a chance to practice the techniques before grafting your own fruit tree.

Deposit is fully refundable unless you wish to keep the grafted tree .
